300E-24: Engine conversion to 3.2 liters. 234 hp (>1991)
300E-24: Engine conversion to 3.4 liters. 272 hp. (1991<)
AMG-Hammer 1985-1989
The AMG hammer featured a converted V8 engine from 560SEL/SEC. The engine was bored to 6.0 liters and fitted with a 32valve top, which gave this car 380 hp. The engine bay had to be completely redesigned, the battery was put in the trunk to compensate for the huge weight of the engine. Sedan, coupe and wagon models were made. 0-100 figures were about 5 seconds and top speed above 300 kmh.
1993-1997
The newly developed 3.6 inline 6 engine from the new C36 AMG quickly found its way to the recently facelifted w124. A few special edition cabriolets were built until 1997.
